Analogue-digital interpolation, cyanotypes, instant film, coding and animation techniques are frequently used within his work.
Portraits, landscapes and narrative documentary; manipulations, honesty, humour and sadness.
Chalmers’ work examines memories, death, mental health, gender, the artist’s process and human bodies – in particular the largest human organ.
Michael Chalmers was born in Edinburgh in 1986. He earned a BA(hons) in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College of Art in 2010.
